Enrolling our boys at Little Owly’s has been the absolute best decision for our family. Since we can’t be with them all day, we take comfort knowing that when they’re dropped off each morning, they are loved and cared for by the entire staff. Kids should be kids. Little Owly’s fosters learning and enrichment through fun and play – they nourish the whole child, mind and body. We are so thankful to Ali and her staff for loving our boys and equipping them with the academic and social skills they’ll need when they go to school. You know you’re in the right spot when your kids don’t want to leave at pick-up!
One of the hardest things as a working parent is leaving your child in the care of someone else. We toured many day cares, and when visiting Little Owly’s, we knew we’d found the right place for our family. There is nothing more important than the safety and development of our children, and we are so thankful we can trust our kids at Little Owly’s for both. The teachers have all been well-educated and have not only taught our daughter so many new skills, but have also taught us about child development along the way. It’s been great to get to know Ali, Kim, and all the staff there.
Gwen has been at Little Owly’s since she was 3 months old, and we have been nothing but gracious and pleased with all of the dedication to our sweet bundle of joy. Now that she is going on 2 years old, we have truly seen her emerge from an infant to a little toddler. Learning animals and colors, ‘cooking’ in the kitchen, singing and dancing to music, and reading books are some of her favorite activities. We also love getting her darling little art projects sent home and put up on the fridge! We can’t wait to see where she goes in the coming years as they prepare her for Kindergarten! Thanks Little Owly’s Family!
All the teachers greet you with a huge smile and make you feel like family. Tremendous thought and love was put in to each classroom, and you will simply melt when you see them. The whole atmosphere is inviting! You will have a hard time taking your child anywhere else after taking in the whole experience!
We fell in love with Little Owly’s the moment we saw the infant room. We have our baby at another center but are so excited for her to start at Little Owly’s! We know she will be in great hands with Ali and her teachers!
We met Ali over eight years ago when she was our oldest son’s preschool teacher. Over the years since, Ali has become like a member of our family. We have entrusted our young children to her many times, and without any reservation. Ali wonderfully combines fun and firmness, a warm smile with confident redirection. She is smart, trustworthy, caring and creative, and most importantly, she genuinely loves children. Upon initially meeting Ali, both kids and adults will immediately notice her positive attitude and energetic nature. She is just an exceptional person! Ali’s education, experience, and character will ensure a wonderful and enriching environment for children at Little Owly’s!
I have known Alison Kistner Ernzen for many years as a friend of our family. For a year and a half, Ali was the full-time nanny of our three young children — ages 1, 3, and 6. During that time, our family has been blessed by Ali’s amazing gift with children.
Ali provided a consistent routine while offering loving guidance in day-to-day activities. While working from my home office, I had the opportunity to watch Ali engage our children in creative activities that afforded opportunities to have fun while learning. Whether it was teaching them how to use manners, sing the alphabet, identify letters and sounds, engage in imaginary play, or to use the potty chair, Ali offered creative ideas and positive enouragement in a firm and loving manner. In the mornings she often engaged our two young girls in fun projects, and after tucking them in for naps, Ali mustered the energy to play a game of baseball or kickball with our son. Ali’s creative-inspired activities ranged from children’s artwork that hangs on our walls, to a clay plate that remains one of my favorite treasures, to a recent lemonade stand on our corner. She often took the kids on outings — to the library, music in the park, and various organized children’s activities throughout the city.
Our children adore Ali – she arrived each morning with a smile on her face and the energy and enthusiasm necessary to engage them throughout the day. I was often amazed at the patience and energy level Ali displayed in interacting with our children.
One of the biggest challenges for a working mother is finding a safe, loving, and learning environment for the children while mom is at work. Knowing that Ali was caring for my children gave me peace of mind and allowed me to focus completely on work and other career goals.
Teaching and nurturing children comes so naturally to Ali, clearly it is what she was meant to do. It only takes minutes of observing Ali with a young child to witness her gift. While we will miss her presence in our home every day, we know that she will be teaching and nurturing children, offering them opportunities to grow and learn, and giving many parents the peace of mind that accompanies the knowledge that your child is safe and happy.
